A Coalition of Katsina State Students have called on delegates across the major political parties to choose better gubernatorial candidates for the interest of the state.
The students made the call when they staged a peaceful rally on Tuesday in Katsina.
The students were seen carrying placards with inscription ‘Katsina State is not for sale’.
The rally started from Continental to the Steel Rolling roundabouts in Katsina.
While addressing newsmen at the rally, the leader of the students, Mr Aliyu Mamman, advised the delegates to fear God because over eight million people in the state are looking up to them.
“They should have the fear of God and elect the right candidates that would put the people first, and also deliver what is expected of them.
“As the 2023 elections are approaching, the parties’ delegates and stakeholders should remember that people are faced with hardship, especially areas with security challenges.
“We want the delegates to choose leaders that would bring the end of this challenge and bring more developmental projects,’’ he said.

According to him, some political parties have demonstrated commitment to choosing credible candidates, urging others to emulate them.
However, Mamman explained that they were not sponsored by any politician, but believe they were doing the right thing as students.
