Nasarawa State House of Assemblyman has urged political party delegates to shun money-bag politicians in order to have credible leaders.
Alkali (APC-Lafia North Constituency), who is seeking a third term, made the call on Thursday while speaking with newsmen after he held a meeting with executive members of the party in his constituency in Lafia.
Alkali, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, pledged more democratic dividends, if re-elected in 2023.
He said that the meeting was aimed at soliciting the support of the party officials to enable him win the constituency’s ticket in APC.
“I will continue to do my best for them, and other people of our great constituency.
“I call them to solicit their support and votes as I will provide more dividends of democracy, if they return me to the House for another term.
“I have done my best in the area of education, health, agriculture, empowerment, security and assistance to the less privileged ones aside from my performance on the floor of the House in terms of lawmaking, among others,” the Deputy Chief Whip of the House said.
The lawmaker also promised quality representation at the state legislature if given another mandate.
He called on the people of the constituency and the state at large to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed beyond 2023.

“His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, is doing well, let’s all support him for another term come 2023,” he added.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the executive members of Lafia North Constituency, comprising Adogi, Arikya, Shabu/Kwandare, Keffin-Wambai, Ashige and Assakio electoral wards, attended the meeting.
