Globally acclaimed cleric, Pastor EA Adeboye, has been humbled by an elevation he has just experienced.
A United States city he first visited as a budding pastor has come back to shower him with an honorary doctoral degree.
He is so moved that he has recalled how he accompanied his mentor to the city, Oklahoma, in 1979.
He tells his story in an Instagram post thus:
“I recall that day in 1979 when I accompanied my father: Pa Josiah Akindayomi, to Tulsa Oklahoma to attend Kenneth Haggins camp meeting and how the power of God moved mightily.
If anyone had told me then that I would be awarded an Honorary degree from one of the most prestigious Universities there: Oral Roberts University, I would have said the person was joking. But looking back and seeing what God as done so far, I cant but just say thank you Jesus.
My sincere appreciation to the Leadership of the University, God bless you.”
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God recently clocked 80, with many people and groups congratulating him.
Under him, the church has grown phenomenally.
It boasts many branches across the world, while it is also known to have established other institutions that include schools, a university and hospitals.
The Redeemed Church city on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has not only continued to expand, it also commands inspiring amenities that many other towns and cities do not have, including self-generated electricity.
