MY LORD, I DIDN’T REALLY STEAL EIGHTY BILLION
Akeem Lasisi
My loot will not really sound as heavy as eighty billion
If the graph is liberally plotted
And you temper your justice with a sense of maths
If you get your Algebra right
It’s a hundred million in 10 places
Multiplied by eight and the figure is mild
Go the Quadratic way
You discover it’s just ten million by perpendicular 10,
And just by eight the case is closed
Consult your logarithm to see my point:
Speaking in forex formula
My graft is chicken change in dollars and pounds
My Lord, I bow and tremble in impeccable metrics
If X raised to power Y equals plea bargaining
My SAN-multaneous Equation sages are eager for a deal.
(Dedicated to Professor Niyi Osundare, my mentor and wizard of this poetic tradition)
