– Manchester City are reportedly set to complete the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

– The last few weeks have seen English club pull ahead of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 21-year-old, and he will now wear the sky-blue City shirt that his father wore during his playing days.

– According to The Athletic, Haaland’s move to the Etihad Stadium is a “done deal” and it should be confirmed this week.

– Personal terms between Manchester City and Haaland were agreed in April, and this cleared the way for dialogue between the clubs.

– Manchester City are set to inform Borussia Dortmund that they will pay the fee that is required to activate the release clause in the striker’s contract, which is a reported 75 million euros (63 million pounds).

– Should the situation proceed as all parties expect, Haaland will be announced as a Manchester City player this week and will then join up with his side for their pre-season preparations.

– Haaland started his career at Bryne and Molde in his native Norway, and then spent a year at Red Bull Salzburg.

– He joined Dortmund in January 2020 and has scored 85 goals in 88 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

– Haaland has attracted strong interest from a host of top European clubs, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

– However, he is set to move to Manchester City to join up with Pep Guardiola’s squad ahead of the 2022/23 season.
