An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, remanded one Bamidele Ogundola, 36, Thomas Ayomide, 22, and Anjorin Ayodeji, 21, over alleged membership of a secret cult.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Franca Olaiya, who did not take the pleas of the defendants, ordered their remand in the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre pending the outcome of the legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
She adjourned the case till June 21 for mention
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Sodiq Adeniyi, had told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offence on May 19 at about 10:00 a.m., at Ikole-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants were found to be member of Black Axe “Aiye” confraternity.

According to him, the offence contravenes Section 41 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendants in a correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
