A Cleric, Pastor Ezekiel Olaniyi, has warned parents to be mindful of their utterances while in the midst of their children.
Olaniyi, of Anointing Church, Ilorin, gave the warning in Ilorin on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to him, bad utterances give children bad lesson as they grow.
He noted many parents lacked good manners and never felt ashamed utter negative statements in front of their wards, thereby misleading them and giving them bad training.
“Parents must be cautious and know what to say in front of their children. It is very bad when you just speak, not minding the presence of your wards.
“Stop uttering unguided utterances. Rather, teach your children and wards how to talk in the public. Don’t allow dirty things to proceed out of your mouths.
“Children retain what they hear most and say it consistently. Don’t be bad examples to your children,” he said.
