Olori Naomi, wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has warned women in abusive marriages not to wait till they die before quitting.
She said it would be too late and their husbands would not come back to love them in the grave.
Naomi had called it quits with the monarch last December, via an online post.
Various efforts of reconciliation have, however, been made.
But obviously mourning gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu, who died after allegedly suffering domestic violence, noted in a post on Monday:
You have a right to say no.
It is your right to be tired.
You can put your hands in the air,
Cry for help if you have to;
Say no even if the world can’t reason with you.
Because, in the grave they still will not.
Don’t wait until death comes,
In anticipation for a pity party.
Death is the end of hope.
