The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Plateau chapter, has elected new officials to run the affairs of the party in the state.
Mr John Mandim was elected as the new chairman alongside 30 other executive members during the party’s congress held on Wednesday in Jos.
Mandim, in his acceptance speech shortly after the congress, said that the party would participate in the 2023 general elections in the state.
He said that NNPP under his watch would not discriminate against new members, who intend to contest elections on the party’s platform.
“As you may be aware, NNPP already has three aspirants, including the former governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso contesting for presidency on the party’s platform.
“Our priority is to salvage Nigeria from its present state of insecurity, economic instability and also ensure that the welfare of the youth and women are given priority,” he said.
The party’s Youth Leader in the North Central zone, Mr Azi Ashoms, moved the motion to validate the congress that produced the new executives.
