Barcelona and Super Falcon player, Asisat Oshoala, has expressed worries at the deepening insecurity in Nigeria.
Kidnapping, killings, robberies and other crimes appear to be multiplying while the security system is arguably overwhelmed.
A report published in t ‘Sunday Punch’ indicates that the country lost 700 soldiers in the past 18 months.
Some 17 of the Nigerian soldiers were said to have been killed by terrorists in an attack on a military formation in Kaduna, a few days ago.
There are anxieties in every part of the country.
No wonder, Oshoala, argued that the country had got to a stage where one could hardly sleep in peace.
Her tweet:
“Omo with the way naija Dey go now, you fit just Dey sleep and then wake up make you no see your head for your neck again.
😂😂😂🤣🤣.”
Although she has just been stripped of the captainship of the Falcons, the Nigerian professional footballer, who plays as a striker for Primera División club FC Barcelona Femení, is widely regarded as one of the greatest African female footballers of all time and one of the best in the world.
She is the most decorated African female footballer of all time, and a joint-record four-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year.
