A 22-year-old man, Yusuf Babatunde was on Friday, arraigned in an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court Lagos, for allegedly stabbing a fellow man with an iron rod.
Babatunde, who resides at Jakande area of Lagos, is charged with assault, occasioning harm.
The Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Bassey, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 19, at about 1:30 p.m., at Jakande Market area in Lagos.
Bassey said that the defendant inflicted injuries on the right eyelid and hand of one Joseph Okenwo, by stabbing him with an iron rod.
He said that the offence contravened Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.A Daodu, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Daodu adjourned the case until May 6, for mention.
