A 55-year-old man, Henry Ogunleye, on Thursday appeared in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing the sum of N209, 000.
Ogunleye, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with stealing, obtaining money under false pretences and cheating.
The prosecutor, Insp Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 23, 2020 at about 9. 30 a.m, at GT bank Dugbe, Ibadan.
Adedosu alleged that Ogunleye obtained the sum of N209, 000 from the complainant, Oso Olaniyi, on the pretext of selling a plot of land to him, knowing that it was false.
She said the offences contravened sections 390, 419 and 421 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate I.O. Osho granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until July 13, for hearing.
