Controversial broadcaster, Daddy Freeze, has taught divorcees and would-be divorcees the need to be proud with the status.
He is speaking against the backdrop of the death of gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, said to have been a victim of a toxic marriage.
He believes that many stay put in bad marriages because they don’t want to be called divorcees.
He wrote:
“If anyone discriminates against you as a divorcee, stand up to them, beat your chest and say:
I didn’t fail at marriage;
Instead I succeeded in divorcing myself from toxicity.
Those who actually failed in marriage are the one who couldn’t make it alive!
If you made it out of suffering alive, you are a success, NOT a failure!”
Curiously, many people have been preaching the need to leave once the marriage is not working.
Some observers believe that while the position is wise, there may be the need to also stress what makes a successful marriage.
