Pastor Timothy Bakare, Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church, Iloro District Coordinating Council, has admonished Christians to have an encounter with Jesus Christ for deeper relationship and connection to God.
Bakare gave the admonition during a Galilee Service to celebrate the church’s 2022 Galilee programme at the Alakowe Mountain, Ilesa Road, Ile-Ife.
According to him, many Christians go to church without having personal encounter with their Lord and Saviour.
He noted that no one could achieve total success in life, by being promoted, having cars, houses, with high level of qualifications among others, without personal encounter with Christ.
“When Saul was yet to meet Christ, he persecuted the saint by imprisoning them because they were preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, as he didn’t know Christ then.
“But immediately he had encounter with Christ, his life was transformed and started preaching and winning souls,” he stated.
He decried the actions of some so called believers who were worshipping other gods beside Jesus Christ, noting that they had yet to have an encounter with Jesus Christ.
“People might be going to church, can even be Ministers of God, or hold any post in the vineyard of God, but without encounter with God, they are nothing before Him and their names are not yet written in the book of life.
“Church goers without encounter with God cannot please God. This will be causing trouble amidst the children of God. Some might be rich, but would not support God’s work to progress.
“They fail to know that God’s work cannot diminish,” the Superintendent explained.
He charged all Christians to put on the armour of God, so as to resist the devil, adding that anyone without Christ was blind.
“First, seek ye the kingdom of God and His righteousmess, for all other things shall be added unto it; this would ensure their eternity,” Bakare said.
