The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Nike, Enugu State, Rt. Rev. Christian Onyia, has urged Nigerians to make right choices of leadership in 2023.
Onyia said this while delivering his Bishop’s Charge at the ongoing first session of the sixth Synod of the Diocese, holding at Emmanuel Church, Iji-Nike, Enugu, on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that before now, the bishop had been in the forefront of calling on Christians to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), which needed to support and complement their prayers for good governance.
The bishop noted that the entrance of light removes all darkness and shadows and brings life.
“As a nation that has witnessed (witnessing) unending darkness, Nigeria and Nigerians need light.
“We need our stars to shine.
“Year 2023 is another opportunity to unleash our stars to bring the light. The choice is ours to make,” he said.
The cleric also called on the present government of Enugu State to attend to the road leading to St. Luke’s The Physician Specialist Hospital, New GRA, Enugu, from Trans Ekulu before it hands over power.
“Our major source of worry as a Diocese is funds to enable us equip our specialist hospital located at New GRA, Enugu,” he said.
In conclusion, Onyia reminded Christians again that they had been called and chosen by the Almighty God, adding that they should bear in mind that He rewards a faithful servant.
“He is never an unjust Judge. May we see ourselves and whatever we may be as belonging to God.

“Let us use our gifts, talents, resources and all others to serve Him. Your relationship and devotion to Him will determine what you do with who or what you are,” he noted.
The theme for the five-day synod is: “For Church Mission, Which is More Important: Who or What I Am?’’.
