The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye has spoken on the aspiration of leading political figures concerning 2023.

He is particularly close to one of them, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president who is believed to be interested in running for the presidency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Osinbajo, a pastor in the church, has however yet to declare interest.

This is unlike Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who has done so.

His wife, Remi Tinubu, is also a strong member of the church.

Recent vibes indicated that Adeboye has anointed Osinbajo, but he has said this is untrue.

According to him, he has not pitched his tent with anyone because all of the aspirants are his people.

Adeboye spoke on the matter on Sunday during the RCCG’s monthly programme holding at its headquarters in Mowe, Ogun State.

A media executive, Ayodele Ale, noted this in a report posted on his Facebook page.

Ale added, “The cleric who spoke during his monthly thanksgiving message in the church on Sunday, 03 April 2022 challenged anyone who had seen him anointing any candidate to come out with evidence, said he remained a father to all the aspirants coming up on the platforms of all the political parties in the country and that it would be unjust to anoint any candidate, stressing further that he has never voted for any candidate in the elections conducted.

“Pastor Adeboye told his congregation that he had yet to hear from God that there would be elections, believing that why God has not spoken to him is because of the need to resolve many national issues, especially the endemic corruption in the country. According to him, with the current state of the nation especially the pilfering in the oil sector, it would be impossible for anyone to prophesy that election would take place in 2023.”
