People who are not vaccinated against the Coronavirus may enter Israel as tourists without special permission for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
Starting from Tuesday, foreigners who want to visit have to conduct two polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, one before departure and one after entry.
Before now, the rule has required proof of vaccination for entry.
Additionally, unvaccinated Israelis who return to the country are no longer required to enter five days of quarantine.
Infection rates have dropped in Israel since the end of January.
Earlier on Monday, the Health Ministry reported 10,869 new cases from the day before.
The number of seriously ill has also decline since the beginning of February, a day ago, it was only 534.
About 64 per cent of Israel’s population is considered fully vaccinated.
