Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund are giving two players a chance to keep fit with their reserve team after they fled Ukraine in the wake of Russia’s invasion.
Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday confirmed a report that Raymond Frimpong Owusu and Alan Aussi are training with their under-23 squad and on Monday also practised with the first team.
Owuso, a 19-year-old from Ghana who played at Sorya Luhansk, said he fled four weeks ago and got to Dortmund through contacts of his agent.
Donetsk-born Aussi, 20, played on loan from Dynamo Kiev at second tier side Veres Rivne before leaving.
Under special rules by the world governing body FIFA contracts of players at Ukrainian clubs are deemed suspended until the end of the season and that they are deemed out of contract.
