A housewife, Mrs Josephine Ojochi, has lamented how her former husband allegedly continued to torment her life.
She said the man, Abel Isaac, had vowed that over his dead body would she remarry.
Ojochi on Thursday dragged Isaac before a customary court in Jikwoyi, Abuja, for alleged domestic violence.
Ojochi in her petition alleged that her husband beat her.
“My husband always beats me whenever we have little misunderstanding.
“He inflicts injuries on me. I have some pictures to tender to the court as evidence,” the News Agency of Nigeria quoted her as saying.
She also told the court that her husband admitted to her parents that he was no longer interested in the marriage.
“After my husband made his intension known, my parents returned the dowry and he has since remarried.
“I have also remarried but he will not let me leave in peace with my new husband. He goes to my new husband’s office to harass him.
“He has been following me around, saying that over his dead body will I remarry.
“I beg the court to make a judicial pronouncement to officially terminate the marriage between Isaac and I. I also grant me custody of the only child of the marriage,“ she said.
The presiding judge, Labaran Gusau adjourned the matter until March 30, for cross examination
