The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday brought a count charge of drug trafficking against a 24-year-old man, Emmanuel Danlami, before a Federal High Court in Lagos State.

The defendant is accused of illegal deal in cannabis sativa (hemp).

The charge marked FHC/L/177C/2022 was signed by NDLEA counsel, Mr Jeremiah Aernan, who alleged that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 9, on Ajao Estate, Lagos State.

According to Aernan, NDLEA found cannabis sativa weighing 100g on the defendant, seized the substance and consequently arrested the defendant.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that cannabis is restricted along with cocaine, heroin and other hard drugs.
