The aid organization Doctors Without Borders has been given permission to land a group of 111 ill migrants in Sicily, after waiting in the Mediterranean Sea for about a week.

The Geo Barents ship would now call at the port in Augusta, the organization announced on Twitter on Monday. It rescued the people in distress at sea in two missions at the beginning of March.

The volunteers of the Spanish NGO Open Arms also brought 28 rescued people to Augusta at the end of last week.
