Wizkid’s Made In Lagos Album makes history on Billboard Charts

– Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid is off to a great start with records in 2022 as he officially equals a 27-year record on the Billboard charts with his classic album “Made in Lagos.”

– Aside from being the highest and the longest-charting Nigerian artist on the Billboard World Album charts, Wizkid has taken it up a notch by joining the African legends to possess the longest-charting album on the Billboard charts with the album “Made In Lagos.”

– Big Wiz now ties the African legend, Cesaria Evora, to have the longest-charting album on the Billboard World Album Charts with 66 weeks.

– The Cape Verdean singer, Cesaria Evora, with her Grammy award-winning album, Cesária, had spent a complete of 66 weeks on the charts peaking at the number 2 position, which made her the only African to spend that long on the charts.

– Wizkid has equalled that record with his ‘Made in Lagos’ album that has also spent a total of 66 weeks on the Billboard charts and it still seems that it’d still be on the charts.

– This means that Star Boy is one week away from breaking the record and becoming the highest-charting African on the Billboard World album charts.
