As Ukraine and Russia face off gets heated, Nigerian Human Rights Activist, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, says women and children are at the receiving end of the ongoing war.
Okei-Odumakin, also the President, Women Arise, made this known in a solidarity message in Lagos.
She expressed hope that calm and peace would return to Ukraine soonest while praying for end to the face off.
According to her, we are in the spirit with all the women and children of and in Ukraine right now and indeed with everyone at the receiving end of Russian missiles at this dark moment in Europe.
Okei-Odumakin therefore, prayed and appealed for cessation of hostilities and a return to diplomacy, even as far fetched as she said that might seem now.
“As we do this, we align with democracy and the rule of law. We stand with justice everywhere and anywhere in the world. We vote that right is right, not might.
“We hope Ukraine will return to peace soonest and Europe will see the light again,” she said.
