The National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Sokoto State chapter on Tuesday, condoled with Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, on the death of the Magajin Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Hassan Danbaba.
Danbaba, the grandson of late Sir Ahmadu Bello (Sardauna of Sokoto), the Premier of Northern Nigeria, died on Saturday in Kaduna after a brief illness .
The deceased was in August 2020, appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, as the Board Chairman, Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA).
The women journalists who were led by their Chairperson, Hajiya Rakiya Muhammad on a condolence visit to the governor, prayed Allah to grant repose to the soul of the deceased, and grant his family, as well as associates the fortitude to bear the loss.
Muhammad described Danbaba’s demise as a big loss to the entire country, saying, ” he lived a life of generosity and peace building in the society.
“He was a father, who always supported, guided and consoled the people around him, as well as an Iconic peace builder,” she said.
Responding, Tambuwal appreciated the journalists in the state for their commitment and dedication toward adhering to the ethics of the profession.
The governor reassured them of his administration’s commitment to work with journalists in ensuring more and even development of the state.
