Revelers on Monday evening throng the various hotel, bars, lounges, resorts in Ibadan that had lined up activities to celebrate the 2022 St. Valentine’s Day.
A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who went around the metropolis reports that many of the revelers, mostly couples, were in matching white and red attires, symbolic of the mood of the day.
NAN reports that at most of the places visited there was food, variety of drinks and music to spice up the evening.
At the Bond Lounge Akintayo And The Bright Band entertained guests while at the Euros Class and Suites, Idowu Santana popularly known as Arole Ayefele thrilled fans.
The OLASAX Band entertained with their Valentine Chillz in Bodija while Lovers Rave with Yemi Wanbe held their audience spellbound at Sluggers Club.
Mrs Oluwatosin Oyewunmi told NAN at Golden Tulip Hotel, Jericho, that this was her best St. Valentine’s Day celebration
Oyewummi said that the buffet experience was wholesome coupled with the fact that she’s eating and listening to good choice of music.
“The fact that I’m eating and listening to songs that I selected makes it memorable. This experience would linger for so long on my mind,” she said.
Mr Lekan Bashiru, who was celebrating at a lounge which had Akintayo And The Bright Band entertaining guests, told NAN that his wife was a lover of life bands and that was why they were at the lounge..
Bashiru said that his wife forgets all her worries once she’s listening to a life band playing.
“This is a way not just to enjoy the celebration, but to also ease my wife of some stress. This is one of the few ways she relives herself of things bothering her.
“My priority is making her happy and taking worries away from her as much as I can. All that’s going on in Nigeria can weigh one down, but one has to keep going and be focused,” he said.
Busayo Akindele, a guest at The OLASAX Band said that she was at the place to have fun in an unusual way.
“This is a different feel entirely not the usual songs genre of music. I love unique things and this is one. This way my brain will be put to task to figure out the song and the lyrics.
“ I came here with my fiance to enjoy the celebration and cool off after today’s hectic day at work,” she said.
NAN observed that clubs on Ring Road such as Switch, Derock Apollo, No 1 hotel club and Club Deluxe all had events to mark the day with high vehicular traffic in their vicinities.
