President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the controversial New Electoral Bill into law.
Although he did so behind schedule, many believe he has made history based on the major issues covered by the bill.
The signing was delayed for months as the President rejected the proposal that all parties hold direct primaries.
He had argued that the system would be too expensive to manage.
The delay has also affected the date of the new general elections as it affected the calendar of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
