Olugbade Adegoke, brother to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, student allegedly killed in a hotel in the city, Timothy Adegoke, has challenged lawyer to one of the suspects to engage him in any action.
Olugbade stated this in an interview with the proprietor of a media platform in the vanguard of investigation into Timothy’s death, Oriyomi Hamzat.
The lawyer, said to be representing Dr Rahman Adedoyin, owner of the hotel (Hilton), is said to be warning Hamzat on a claim that CCTV report indicted his client.
Reacting, Olugbade said he was available for any action the lawyer might want to institute.
“The CCTV has revealed the truth and we have seen how they killed my brother,” he said. “Let the lawyer face me. I am ready for him. He should leave Oriyomi Hamzat alone.”
Timothy’s body was found in a shallow grave days after he stayed in Hilton.
Olugbade, who remains bitter like the deceased’s other relatives, has been pointing the accusing finger at the suspects.
Last December, Olugbade had, however, alleged that some people tried to kidnap him.
He had said: “I went to a store close to our house in Eruwa to buy things and after buying those things, I came out of the store and was returning home when I saw that some men came out of a car that was parked close to the place. The car was not parked there before I went inside the store.
“The men came towards me and said ‘he is the one, go inside that car.’ They started pursuing me.
“When I realised that, I started running away shouting and screaming and this attracted those nearby. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Eruwa tried and some policemen and Amotekun Corps who were stationed at a nearby place came towards me. Their response saved me from being kidnapped.
“The moment the men sighted the Amotekun officers, they jumped into the car and sped off,” he added.
