4 men in court for allegedly stealing N4.1m clothes

A 20-year-old student, Timothy Friday, was on Tuesday docked in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two laptops worth N310,000.
The police charged Friday, who resides in Barnawa in Kaduna with breaking and entering and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 10, at 1 p m. in the High Coast Narayi, Kaduna

Leo explained that the defendant broke into an apartment belonging to the complainant, Mrs Janet Samuel while she was sleeping and stole the two laptops.
The prosecutor said the laptops were recovered from him.
Leo noted that the offence contravened sections 271 and 273 of the Penal Code Law of Kaduna State, 2017.

Friday pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Emmanuel ordered that the surety must be gainfully employed and have evidence of two years tax payment to the Kaduna State Government.
