As the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control confirms three cases of Omicron COVID variant in Nigeria, South African President, Cyril Ramphosa, is currently in Nigeria.
He is in Abuja on an official visit to President Muhammadu Buhari.
It is not clear whether the visit is about the variant said to have been first detected in South Africa.
The country is under further pressure as countries are restricting flights to and fro it.
While Rwanda has also restricted such, Nigeria has yet to do so.
