– The Gunners took the lead in a fast-paced match on a bizarre goal that saw Emile Smith Rowe fire a rocket from outside the box passed a slumped over David de Gea.
– De Gea had ended up on the turf when he stepped on teammate Fred’s ankle as they battled to clear out a corner kick, with the ball bouncing then Smith Rowe for the shot. After the referee initially waved off the goal, VAR overruled the decision to give Arsenal the early advantage.

– Martin Odegaard then equalised for Arsenal two minutes later, before Ronaldo scored No. 801 when he converted from the penalty spot in the 70th minute to give the hosts the win.
