A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Mr Adetokunbo Adeaga, has donated building materials and cash amount for the commencement of construction work at the Lagelu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) permanent Secretariat.

Adeaga, an aspirant for the Akinyele/Lagelu Constituency into the Federal House of Representatives, made the donation on Wednesday in Ibadan.

It was at a gathering of political stalwarts, friends and family members to honour Alhaji Lanre Latinwo for his appointment as the Political Head/Administrator of the LCDA.

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State had last week appointed Latinwo, along with others, as the Political Head of the LCDA.

Adeaga donated building materials like one thousand cement blocks, 50 bags of cement and N100,000 cash toward the construction of the LCDA Secretariat.

He said that the new appointee deserved every support to ensure the success of his administration.

Adeaga said that though, the LCDA had been operating from a borrowed apartment at Olorunda/Abaa, as its headquarters, his wish was to move the council to a permanent site under construction.

In his remarks, Latinwo told the gathering that his immediate priority was to, among others, commence the movement of the LCDA to its permanent site.

According to him, I also wish to work toward education development, upgrade of the existing roads and rejuvenation of the comatose infratructure.

‘’I’m assuring you today that we’re going to run an all-inclusive government devoid of nepotism.

“Adequate attention will be given to education, family health, the less-privileged and decaying facilities.

‘’Equally, we intend to empower people through various platforms, including Cooperative Societies and the Community Development Associations, (CDAs), as part of our efforts aimed at boosting our economy,’’ Latinwo said.

He promised that his tenure would ensure the establishment of a commercial bank centre and a police station for the protection of the people and investments.
