Acclaimed writer, Chimamanda Ngozi-Adichie, has narrated how a magazine rejected a photograph of hers based on a claim it is too glamorous.
Although she does not reveal the name of the magazine, she gave an indication that she was not prepared to go for provide an alternative as she says it was the end of the interview.
Or, perhaps, the arrangement could not accommodate doing so.

Sharing the photo online, the author of Hal of a Yellow Sun, among other novels, notes, “It was a cover shoot for an international magazine. Or it was supposed to be. The magazine rejected the photos. They didn’t want me ‘looking too glamorous,’ they said. And so the cover didn’t happen. What does one do with rejected photos but show them anyway, primarily for the vanity-boosting benefits of such an act, but also to celebrate and thank these talented people in Lagos.”
