Unidentified gunmen have struck in Mopa town, headquarter of MopAmuro Local Government Area, Kogi State, kidnapping and killing a victim.
The victim simply identified as Elder Ologun a member of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, and native of Egbe town in Yagba West LGA was allegedly abducted at about 10pm on Thursday.
It was gathered that Pa Ologun had come out of his house with intention to put off his generator, only to walk to the waiting arms of the gunmen, who unknown to him were laying siege on his compound. He was promptly kidnapped and killed the same night.
According to a source Ologun retired as a Theater Nurse in the General Hospital in Mopa some years ago. On sighting the gun men he made to retreat, but it was too late. He then started shouting for help, in vain. His traumatised wife added her voice in panic, all to no avail.
The social media has been washed with accounts of his unfortunate demise.
It would be recalled that stakeholders have raised the alarm over the invasion Kogi West by a large army of gun carrying Fulani men. Last week Sheik Ahmed Gumi a notorious advocate and friend of bandits in Kaduna, payed a working visit to Okun land. He organised free medical services for Fulani in their various settlements in Kogi West and commended Governor Yahaya Bello for accommodating the invaders.
