Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, has said that heartbreaks also are gifts.
According to her, it took her years to realise this.
Makinwa, who noted this in her Instagram story, is of the opinion that disappointment isn’t wrong because it helps one to discover purpose and also grow.
She wrote:
“Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness.
It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.
If they didn’t hurt you so bad perhaps you wouldn’t be where you are today.
Pain births purpose, the pain was necessary for growth.”
Makinwa was once married but the union ended not long after it was contracted.
She could thus be referring to this in her post.
As an individual, she had a mixed bag of experiences in the dying year – 2021, with the adjective, ‘dying’, coincidentally being symbolic in her case.
Among other feats, 2021 is the year Toke got the Gulder Ultimate Search anchor job.
But it is the same year she lost a lovely sister, whom she mourned profusely some weeks back.
