Feliz Navidad is a Spanish phrase meaning “Happy Christmas” or “Merry Christmas”.
José Feliciano wrote the song to unite people with its holiday cheer and its bilingual lyrics — both in Spanish and English. Released in 1970, “Feliz Navidad” remains as popular as ever. It has appeared in movies and TV shows. It’s been covered by musical artists as diverse as Celine Dion, Kacey Musgraves and BTS. And it’s been heard on the radio by an estimated 3.8 billion people, according to Billboard — where “Feliz Navidad” remains one of the top 10 best-performing songs on its Holiday 100 chart.

Every holiday season, you can’t help but sing along to the infectious melody of José Feliciano’s 1970 mega single, “Feliz Navidad.” But aside from the holiday hit, the Puerto Rican singer boasts an almost 60-year musical career.
Feliciano was born in 1945 in Lares, Puerto Rico and has been blind since birth.
In the spirit of the season, here is my own modest version of the song.
Enjoy.
