A faith-based organisation, Olumba Olumba Obu, on Friday called on Nigerians to love one another to prevent social crises which have become a feature in the society.
The Church made the advocacy in Lagos during a courtesy visit by its leadership to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Lagos office.
It said that only the love for one another as personified by Jesus Christ could save humanity in these times.
NAN reports that the visit is a fore-runner to the organisation’s feast of manifestation of its leader, Olumba Olumba Obu, to be celebrated on Nov. 22 at Ketu, Lagos.
The team, led by its Lagos Bishop, Jude Uwaezuoke, said that the world is doomed without love as could be seen in the many human-induced afflictions that plague the society today.
Uwaezuoke said that the team was in NAN to alert the world of its self-destruction if things such as hatred, discrimination, injustice, religious and political intolerance are not replaced by love for everyone.
“With the advent of Coronavirus and its attendant negative impact on the human society, science and human religion have failed man.
“There is no other time to seek the face of God in unison and love as a people than now that the society is engulfed with varying crises and human family threathened.
“This generation seem to have forgotten what led to the fall of Adam and Eve and the destruction of the Noah’s world. It will be a disservice on our part if we keep mute and our world gets doomed,” he said.
The bishop, dismissing wrong public perception of the organisation, charged people to embrace the unity and love of Jesus Christ for a better society.
Also speaking during the visit, Christ Ambassador Paul Ikpi, said that the manifestation feast, a yearly ceremony, would feature alms giving to the public and visit to the orphanages to share love.
He said the feast which was the birthday of the leader, Olumba Olumba Obu, would be used to proclaim the good news to the public by way of envagelism to win souls for God.
Ikpi called on world leaders to key into God’s plan and practice universal love for peace to return to humanity.
Speaking, the Head of NAN Lagos Office (HLO), Mr Ephriam Sheyin, who received the Olumba Olumba team, said the agency is open to organisations that have something good to offer the society.
Sheyin thanked the visiting team for using the media to correct public-perceived wrong notions on inter-personal relationships and the organisation’s stance on love for everyone which could heal the world if put into practice.
