Senior Special Assistant on Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Sheu, has hit back at a former aide of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri.
Omokri had promised to give Garba $50,000 if he could visit Bama, Borno State, after Graba said the Buhari government had brought insecurity under control.
Garba’s message to Omokri is that he does not need his blood money.
In a tweet, he stylishly referred to how Omokri published a book on Boko Haram captive, Leah Saribu, and allegedly made money of it.
He argued: ‘My message to anyone who made money using Leah Sharibu’s sad ordeal, and they are flaunting it remains unchanged: This is blood money. I don’t need any of it. Period.”
In the post, Omokri had said, ”Yesterday, Garba Shehu renewed his claim that “Buhari deserves credit for tackling insecurity”. I now renew my challenge to Garba. Spend a weekend alone, without security, in Bama, and I will pay him $50k.
“Please comment and share so Garba can’t deny seeing this. I am willing to pay the money into an escrow account TODAY or deposit the money with any objective and neutral Third Party of Garba Shehu’s choice.”
