“On behalf of members of Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, we felicitate with our beloved and dynamic Grand Patron, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) on his ascension to the throne 15 years ago.
“Quoting Prof. Ishaq Akintola, 15th years coronation lecture on this unique leader of Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, effectively falls into all three categories of greatness.
“As a prince of the highest traditional stool in Nigeria, he was born great. He rose from a dint of hard work and discipline to become a Brigadier-General in the Nigerian Army.
“By actualising his `prince hood’ to sit on the throne of his forefathers in the Sultanate, he achieved greatness.
“By virtue of his twin roles as the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, where he plays the challenging role of leading more than 120 million Muslims, has greatness trusted upon him.
“It is our fervent prayer that Allah continues to elevate him, preserve him for in goodness and grant him longevity to be able to serve the Ummah,” Balogun said.
