Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is finding it difficult to muster hope on the fate of people still trapped in the rubble of the 21-floor building that collapsed in Ikoyi on Monday.
According to him, it will be extremely difficult to still pick up people alive.
Already, some 38 people had been found dead as of Friday evening.
Speaking at the scene on Friday night, Sanwo-Olu said, ”It would be a tough one. It would be really really tough. It would be extremely extremely tough to imagine that we could probably still have survivors at this time.”
Among the dead were the developer, Femi Osibona, who had built houses in the UK and South Africa before he moved to Nigeria.
There are allegations of irregularities in standards but investigations have just commenced.
