The police in Osun State have given an update on the alleged murder of a Master’s student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke, who was found buried in a shallow grave after lodging at Hilton Hotel in the ancient city.

There were fears that parts of Timothy Adegoke’s body were removed but the police said these were not so, saying no part of the body was tampered with.

Osun police PRO, Yemisi Opalola, also said on Thursday that the owner of the hotel, Rahmon Adedoyin, was still in their custody.

She said, “Investigation by the police indicate that Adegoke slept inside Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife, and he was traced to the hotel.

“In the course of the investigation, we arrested six workers connected to the issue. Further investigation led to the arrest of the owner of the Hotel. Dr Rahman Adedoyin. He is still in our custody. The corpse has been exhumed and deposited at OAUTH morgue.

“The relations were present when the corpse was exhumed and pathologist and the CP. No part of the body was missing when it was exhumed.

“I plead with Nigerians not to stir up controversy, but allow police conduct a diligent investigation to unravel the mystery behind the death of late Adegoke.”
