Group signs MOU with coy to boost youth empowerment

The Committee of Youth Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) and Communication and System Network Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to boost youth empowerment to reduce unemployment in Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement by CYMS Director-General, Mr Obinna Nwaka, on Wednesday in Abuja.
The Communication and System Network is a social enterprise that proffers solution to educational, social and economic challenges in Nigeria.
Nwaka said CYMS was focused on facilitating empowerment, promoting Federal Government policies and ensuring peaceful coexistence by meaningfully engaging youths in collaboration with the Communication and System Network.
He noted that the MOU would facilitate youth empowerment in reducing restiveness and over dependence on white collar jobs.
He further said another objective was to launch and finance the Network Youth Empowerment Programme to promote national socio-economic advancement.
The director-general added that this would attract international communities and business opportunities for the youth.
“It is also contained in the MOU that the CYMS and Communication and System Network Ltd. will implement the first edition project cycle together.
“The role of the Communication and System Network Ltd., includes: to assist in designing the network, training and capacity building for the beneficiaries, provision of local and international partner as well as finance the project launch.
“While the role of the first party is to provide technical assistance and guidance under the project and prepare the technical specifications for the beneficiaries.
“We regularly consult the Communication and System Network Ltd., planning and implementation of the project and engage public and private institutions when the need arises,” he said.
The CYMS boss appreciated the company for the confidence, readiness and support for youth development.
Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar, Project Director, Communication and System Network Ltd., expressed optimism that the partnership would yield more opportunities for youths.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the MOU, signed on Monday and designed to last for 12 months would be launched in December.
The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Policy development and Analysis, Mr Hassan Bapetel, and representatives of the company witnessed the signing of the agreement.
