Afro beat continues to rule Africa and world music as it has earned Femi Kuti more nominations.

He had had this honour in the past, but this year’s experience is unique as his son, Made, is also nominated.

While Femi Kuti bagged a nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category for his song ”Pa Pa Pa”, he and Made bagged a nomination in the Best Global Music Album for their song ”Legacy”.

This is how far afro music has become a huge tradition in the home of the legendary creator of afro music, Fela, who was Femi’s father.

Femi’s brother, Seun, is also deeply into the trade, with a Grammys nomination to his credit too.

Interestingly, other Nigerian Grammys stars such as Burna Boy and Wizkid, both of who have also been re-nominated now, are into afro, although with their signature spices.

That is why man have argued that afro beat has become bigger than Fela left it, with many artistes, including outside Nigeria, also prosecuting it.

No wonder, it is an elated Femi who announced the feat of his feat and that of his son thus:
”@madekuti and I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that voted/ nominated #Legacy+.
Congratulations to all the others nominees.”
