I don’t think it would still be efficient if Yemi Alade should still be referred to as Mama Africa, this woman has pushed her music so far across the world that I would not object if anyone decides to start calling her Mama Globe or Mama World.
After trying to win her way through the Peak Talent show back in 2009, she has now become the woman she wants to be. She now impresses notable folks around the world.
Her talent again has again taken her to London to perform at the EarthShot Prize. The EarthShot Prize is oraginsed by the royal foundation, and it is given to five winners each year. The award is given to people who have provided one or two solutions that have substantially helped the environment. Yes, it is a massive event and Yemi Alade was the artiste that performed there.
While in London for the show, Afrobeats diva, she met great people like Dame Emma Thompson, a popular British actress; Dermot O’Leary, a notable television presenter; Clara Amfo, a well-known British radio and television presenter and Ed Sheeran, one of the best singers in the World.
Yemi Alade also met with notable footballers – Mohammed Sallah and Danny Alves. She met with American actor who is of Yoruba descent, David Oyelowo, Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan and of course the celebrated Prince Williams and Duchess Kate.
Yemi Eberechi Alade born 13 March, 1989 (age 32) in Abia State, Nigeria. She is winner of MTV African Music Awards for Best female in 2015 and 2016.
The artiste who sings in English, Igbo, Pidgin, Yoruba, French, Swahili and Portuguese attended Victory Grammar School, Ikeja; and the University of Lagos. With over 14.9 million followers on Instagram, she leads other female Nigerians on the platform.
