29-year-old shop attendant, Shubar Idris, was on Tuesday docked in a Badagry Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing his employer’s N650,000.
The police charged Idris, whose address is not unknown is being tried for stealing.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Clement Okuiomose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct.11, at about 2:30p.m at Alaba International Market area of Lagos.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendant stole N650,000, belonging to his employer, the complainant, Mr Pius Ogbonna.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015″, he said.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Fadaunsi Adefioye, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
Adefioye ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relation, who should reside within the Court’s jurisdiction with evidence of three years’ tax payments to the Lagos State government.
The magistrate adjourned the case until Nov.23 for mention.
