Council boss cautions staff against truancy, absenteeism

Mr Abdullahi Aliyu, Chairman, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has cautioned the staff of the council to desist from truancy and absenteeism for optimal productivity.

Aliyu said during a meeting with the staff of the council on Thursday, in Toto.

He urged the staff to always be punctual at their places of work and exhibit high sense of dedication to duty in order to ensure productivity.

The chairman said that he convened the meeting to brainstorm with the staff on issues that would move the council forward.

” I urge you to shun truancy, absenteeism and lateness to work for optimal productivity and for the overall development of the council,” he said.
Aliyu promises to operate an open door policy and inclusive governance for development to thrive.

” My doors will remain open for ideas and suggestions from you so that together we shall carry this council to the greater height.

” I want to assure you of my determination to key into different policies and programmes that will change your lives positively,” he said.

He called on the staff of the council to give him their much needed support to succeed.

Responding, Mr Ja’faru Mohammed, the Vice Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the council, and the Staff Officer of the council, Garba Bako, appreciated the chairman for convening the meeting.

The appealed to the council chairman to create a conducive working environment for the staff to give their best.
The duo also assured the chairman of the staff’s support towards the success of his administration.
