The Dotted Gift International, in partnership with Dark Cypha Entertainment, will host an international trade fair, carnival and tour in Badagry, Lagos, between Dec. 13 and Dec. 19.
Ms Bimbola Oluyeye, Team Leader of the companies, said this at a news conference in Badagry on Tuesday.
“This is the first time in Lagos State that a trade fair will be attached to carnival and tour.
“It will be the greatest fair that ever graced any city in Lagos State. One of the reasons why we are coming up with carnival and tour is to bring the world to Badagry,” Oluyeye said.
He said the aim was to see how the people of Badagry could relax after working for 358 days and at least have seven days of the year to themselves.
He also said there would the biggest discount sales, entertainment and tour of the town at the fair.
According to her, it is a known fact that there have been a lot of fairs on Lagos Island and Mainland but Badagry has not witnessed such an important historical event.
He noted that part of the benefits of the fair was to give corporate organisations the opportunity to sell at company price to the people.
The team leader further said the programme would solve a lot of infrastructure challenges witnessed in Badagry.
For the carnival, Oluyeye said certain days would be dedicated to tribes in Badagry to display their cultural heritage.
“Finally, the tour aspect is to take the people to the historical relics in Badagry.
“Our strategy is to attract all and sundry to Badagry through a discount tour of historical monuments and engage the services of renowned celebrities in Nigeria with high fan base,” she said.
The team leader urged stakeholders to sensitise the people to ensure the success of the programme.
Mr Olusegun Onilude, Chairman, Badagry Local Government, represented by his Chief Protocol Officer, Miss Oyindamola Sanni, said the council was honoured and glad to be part of the event.
Onilude said the event would enable the residents to patronise different corporate organisations.
He promised that the council would join hands with the organisers to make the event memorable.
Also, High Chief Patrick Mobee, the Mobee of Badagry Kingdom, urged stakeholders in the town to support the event to ensure its success
