While many people have observed that Ronaldo naturally deserves to get it back, others have said it was like a usurpation.
Manchester United announced on Thursday that Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the iconic no.7 shirt after returning to Old Trafford.
This is as Cavani adopted the number he proudly wears for his beloved Uruguay– 21 – following the departure of its former owner Daniel James to Leeds United.
Hailing Cavani, Ronaldo noted on Friday: “I wasn’t sure if it would be possible to have the number seven shirt again. So I would like to say a huge thank you to Edi (Cavani) for this incredible gesture.”
