The highest before Tuesday was Ali Daei, who had 109.
But Ronaldo smashed the record as he scored double to earn 110 international goals.
The feat was, ironically recorded in the same match he lost a penalty.
In the Portugal’s World Cup qualifier game against Ireland, he lost the penalty in the 15th minute, only to get the two goals in the 89th and sixth minute of extra time.
