Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA) says it will unveil its maiden Magazine titled: “Gween Digest” to celebrate Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary in the country.
The President General of NICASA, Mr Benjamin Okoli, gave the assurance in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He disclosed that the association would also hold its annual convention towards the celebration of Nigeria’s independence day anniversary on October 1.
According to him, the date for this convention was initially scheduled for Sept. 30 but had been postponed to a new date in October.
“The postponement of the event is based on logistic reasons and also, COVID-19 regulations; the new date will be communicated after our National Executive Council meeting.
“The highlight of the event will be the presentation and launch of NICASA quarterly magazine named Gween Digest.
“The magazine will feature adverts of Nigerians’ owned businesses, Nigerian achievers, topical issues and articles ranging from immigration, police concerns and welfare.
“The magazine is tended to be an instrument of change in our hands to drive a new narrative for our community.
“Through the magazine we shall tell our stories than have others told it on our behalf to promote the good image of our fatherland,” he said.
