Eight years after star artiste, Peter Okoye, tied the knot with Lola Omotayo, he is still savouring the sweetness of their love.
The former PSquare man, popularly called Mr P, made this known on Wednesday when he celebrated her birthday.
She is 47.
Celebrating her in a post, Mr P said, “To my dear Wife, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I want to take this opportunity to remind you how wonderful you are, not only to me but to all the people whose lives you touched everyday.”
Peter Okoye and Lola Omotayo got married on 17 November 2013. They have two children, Cameron and Aliona, with Cameron born in 2008 before their marriage.
As thrilling.com captures, although she was born in Nigeria, she bears double nationality, Nigerian and Russian. This is because she was born into a family of a Nigerian father and a Russian mother.
Her father, Mr. Dipo Omotayo got married to her mum long ago before moving to Nigeria. He is the owner of Silco Drilling and Completion services – an oil and gas company based in Lagos.
She was admitted into the University of Ife to study Psychology in 1990 but left Nigeria for San Francisco University, USA to study Theater Arts. She made the move because of the periodic strikes in which the Nigerian universities embarked.
Against all distractions, their love has continued to boom.
Lola recently recalled how they met: “My agency handles some of British American Tobacco brands and P’Square was doing a show for us at one of our events in Enugu. Though I had met Peter a couple of times before then, at the show there was some chemistry.
“He asked for my number and I refused giving it to him. I told him ‘if you really want to know me, you have to find my number’. So he took it as a task and found my number and the rest is history.
“Like I said, Peter is an old soul and he always tells me that I’m like a 23-year-old. Age is just a number. Right now, you can see it around the world. Demi Moore, Usher and some known people. Even in Nigeria here, they are dating people far older than their age. So, we shouldn’t base it on the age factor. He doesn’t make me feel like he’s younger than me.”
